At Connecticut Dance School, we believe in the transformative power of dance. We teach that dance can add infinite depth and artistry to the lives of young people, opening them to a new world of creative expression. CDS offers a nurturing, disciplined environment where students and their parents fall in love with dance for life.

Connecticut Dance School is dedicated to the highest traditions of teaching classical ballet. Proper technique, musicality, and discipline are emphasized throughout all classes. Students are trained at age-appropriate levels, a critical element in building dancers’ skill and self-esteem. This gradual process helps train younger students in the artistry and discipline necessary to excel in classical ballet.

It is said that performance is all about sharing one’s love of dance.  In class, the emphasis is on learning new material and perfecting technique.  In the theater, we take what we’ve learned in the studio and share it with the audience. Performance is what dance is all about and, at Connecticut Dance School, consummate performance is the goal for every dancer.
