We serve the Greater Danbury area, striving every day to strengthen our community and make an impact in people’s lives through our areas of focus.
All kids deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve. We see every interaction with young people as an opportunity for learning and development – all grounded in the Y’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
We help people and families build and maintain healthy habits for spirit, mind, and body in their everyday lives. By helping kids, adults, families, and seniors from all walks of life improve their health and well-being, we build a stronger community.
Giving back and providing support to our neighbors
With our doors open to all, we bring together people from all backgrounds and support those who need us most. We know that when we work as one, we can move people and our community forward. That’s why we are committed to providing support to our neighbors and opportunities for kids, adults, and families to learn, grow and thrive.
Health & WellnessThe Y has many ways to get involved – including youth, adult and active older adult sports and fitness classes, working with a personal trainer, nutrition counselor or wellness coach, and taking part in a weight loss or chronic disease prevention program. Choose what programs help you on your journey towards better health and wellness.
Youth Sports and FitnessThe Y offers an array of exciting sports programs. Whether it’s gaining the confidence that comes with learning a new sport, building the positive relationships that lead to good sportsmanship and teamwork, or learning new skills, participating in sports at the Y is about building the whole athlete, inside and out. Selecting a sports program to participate in can be as simple as selecting the one you or your child have enjoyed as a fan. However, sometimes it makes sense to think through your/your child’s fitness goals and what they enjoy doing. Sports offer the opportunity to participate individually or as a team, and challenges participants in different ways through endurance, speed, mental toughness, teamwork, strength, and coordination. Learn a new sport or refine existing skills under the supervision of caring, skilled, and supportive Y coaches and instructors. Choose from classes, fitness, clinics, and specialty programs.
Arts & HumanitiesOver the years, our YMCA Arts and Humanities program has established within the Greater Danbury community. Whether an individual has an interest in visual arts, cooking, or dancing the YMCA offers activities for children, youth, teens, adults , and families to express themselves while building healthier spirits, minds and bodies.
Child Care – Children are like sponges – they watch and absorb knowledge, skills and values from everything and everyone around them.
